This is one of the projects undertaken in September 2013 together with Ron who was on his bi-annual trip to Kenya. Access to the borehole was a bit tricky due to overgrown shrubs and presence of a gantry. However, not given to easily lose heart, the DFL team of able-bodied men gave their best effort to clear every obstacle from the way and pave way for setting up the rig at the borehole site. The rehabilitation process consisted of flushing the borehole to remove silt and any accumulated back-fill then developing the borehole using air-jetting. Pump testing was also carried out as well as servicing of the existing pump before re-installing it. The control panel also needed some service as the phase failure was faulty. We managed to have this fixed and ensure that the school has it’s water supply up and running.
